THATCHAM ANGLING ASSOCIATION BULL’S LOCK FISHERY

We are delighted to announce that we have signed another water sharing agreement with CALPAC, this time a short stretch of the Kennet near Newbury at Bull’s Lock. Members of the Association are permitted to fish this water for coarse fish from (and including) 21/9/13 to 14/3/14. The fishery consists of approximately 100 meters of River Kennet and extends from the bottom boundary of the Civil Service stretch, (where there is a wire fence), to the river’s confluence with the Kennet and Avon canal. The venue can accommodate three anglers with comfort. Parking is available in the lay-by on the south side of the canal (see map below). Fishing is from dawn till dusk, though if the venue proves popular we will endeavor to negotiate night fishing next season. CALPAC rules apply, (see link). In addition, no boilies please and keep prebaiting to moderate levels. We would appreciate it if anglers fishing this venue were to tell us what they catch here, (even “blank” returns are useful). Please email your reports to steve43morgan@aol.com. We need to know whether or not to renew the agreement with CALPAC next year and, if so, what level of rent would be appropriate. Any information would be helpful!

Good fishing. Steve Morgan (Chairman)
