The Association exists to provide good quality fishing, both on rivers and still-waters, in the Thatcham area. Membership is open to everyone : full membership to anglers living locally and associate membership to those living elsewhere. Junior anglers, (over the age of eight years), are welcome and can join at reduced rates, as can senior anglers over the age of sixty-five.
We own our own complex of lakes in Thatcham, boasting carp to well over 40 lbs, as well as tench and bream to double figures. Our canals have produced specimen perch to over 4lbs and our rivers hold barbel to 14lbs and chub to 6lbs. Night fishing is available on most of our venues with the purchase of an additional night permit.
We cater for all types of angler. Not all of our members are hardened “specimen hunters” and we also offer fishing at venues where a netful of silver fish is possible – ideal for beginners or those just fishing for the simple pleasure of catching fish. There is also an active match section.
However, we do not intend to stand still. We are actively seeking new waters and, of course, to improve the ones we already have. We aim to become the most progressive angling club in West Berkshire.
We believe that the Association offers outstanding value for money. Take a look at our venues and judge for yourself, we think you’ll be impressed! We look forward to welcoming new members and to continuing to serve the needs of those who are already with us.
